مصدر روسي أخير يقول أن الروس واجهوا مشاكل مع الفولاذ المستخدم بشكل رئيس لبناء هيكل الطائرة Mig-25 وأنهم لم يستخدموا الألمنيوم !!
The creation of an aircraft with such revolutionary flight characteristics required the adoption of truly non-standard and unexpected decisions in the course of its design. First of all, this concerns the main structural material, which was chosen as stainless steel, and not traditional aluminum, which does not withstand high temperatures. No less radically approached the problem of structural formation, replacing the usual riveting with automatic welding.
In contrast to the American Lockheed SR-71, titanium alloys lost only about 8% of the construction weight. The solution turned out to be successful - the plane turned out to be much cheaper. At the same time, the transition to steel required significant re-equipment of the pilot and serial plants, the development of new welding technologies, heat treatment, coating, etc., which entailed many problems.
